PGIA Tariff Survey

The PGIA recently conducted a member survey regarding the impact of the US Tariffs on Canadian goods and the reciprocal Canadian tariffs on US goods. The intent was to provide some feedback to members about how the tariffs or the tariff uncertainty may affect businesses.

We want to thank all those who participated. In order to provide greater input to the survey, we invited the SPIA to participate and the consolidated survey results are available below.

CPIA US Import Tariff Information

Information about the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) and the “informational materials” exemption.

The Canadian Printing Industries Association (CPIA) has compiled the information below on the anticipated US import tariffs. The information is meant to educate print industry members on the current framework for the US tariffs which were briefly imposed at the beginning of March 2025 and expected to be re-imposed on April 2, 2025.

CPIA Reaches Out to Canada Post

In response to the recent Canada Post labour disruption, the CPIA has communicated with Mr. Doug Ettinger, CEO of Canada Post Corporation outlining the concerns of the printing industry in Canada. The letter was also sent to  The Honourable Minister of Public Services and Procurement, Jean-Yves Duclos and to the The Honourable Rick Perkins, MP.  

The CPIA, PGIA and all the regional associations in Canada are seeking clarity on the future of Canada Post service delivery without disruptions.
